Why I’m doing monthly novellas, how we got here, and what’s coming next.

Hello readers!

I didn’t actually think that I would be making this blog post, largely because I kind of figured that no one would ask about it– in the case of most publications, readers tend to just be thankful to hear from you; which you guys were! I just had a few questions shot my way regarding what I’m currently up to and why I’m doing this.

So as many of you have realized by now, the World of Whynne is a series of monthly novellas releasing every 15th taking place in the land of Whynne. They’re all pretty short, meant t be read in under an hour, though readers seem to be wanting them to be longer if the option existed, which I’m noting.

I started releasing these basically just as a small treat to give people something to look forward to as I finish a bunch of bigger books in the background and also try to figure out what series will work moving forward. This was always something that I had in my back pocket in case I had to re-chart courses and move what I consider a mainline series into the background to consider other projects.

You know, so you guys would still have something to read and have fun with while I reconsider my life and my choices.

This series of Novellas will probably go for a year and feature two larger compilation volumes, but it won’t stop my regular full novel releases. It’s just sort of a bunch of fun stories I’ve had in my back pocket released as a way to make up for a longer wait inbetween full books and to be honest, the sight of it shouldn’t be a bad thing at all!

Technically Alice: Pick a Card was originally a series like this one to account for things that happened with the series I currently had going on at the moment, it just ended up growing larger and larger the longer I went on– whereas almost all of the World of Whynne Novellas are almost completed.

This does not mean that Ivy and Ash will not be getting its Spring semester, this just means that during the drafting process my priorities shifted writing wise and Ivy and Ash is sort of operating as a fun side project right now as the World of Whynne novellas release and I contemplate what I actually need to release so that my dog can keep eating fun food.

That’s all!

If you haven’t read the World of Whynne yet, however, below are the links of what’s already been released if you’d like to.
